The digital intuition people at My6Sense have applied their curating prowess to Twitter’s endless stream of tweets. Last Wednesday the company released a Chrome extension which enables users to enjoy Twitter in a brand new way.

My6Sense offers a content curating service based on the company’s trademark, ‘Digital Intuition’ which relies on an analysis of user online preferences . The company’s product has so far been offered as a content curating solution for the entire spectrum of digital venues, the new Chrome extension breaks away from this. The Chrome extension takes My6Sense proven abilities, and applies them just to a person’s Twitter stream. Once installed, the extension adds a new ‘My6Sense’ column to Twitter’s on-site GUI.

When selected, the column displays what My6Sense believes will interest the user, rather than the typical bloated timeline. The new column also displays previews of pages it is recommending, and in this goes even beyond what Twitter itself offers in link previews.

One of the main advantages of My6Sense is that it does not require users to provide any information or preferences, instead the service studies its users independently, and starts delivering custom tailored content after a surprisingly short period . The company site entices potential downloaders to, “Skip the noise and stop sifting”. In their offering, My6Sense seem to be ushering in the era of the personalized web. The new extension can be got here.

Abstract: Tweetiator is a patent-pending web service that allows content owners to see who is tweeting links to their content on Twitter. It was conceived and developed by NimbleSource to make the world a little bit better by letting you interact with the people who are helping spread your content around the web. Since a lot of shared links never get clicked on, either because the person sharing them has no followers or their followers are ignoring them, we only track the links that get clicked.

Link sharing analytics are easy to get if you are the sharer of a link (by using link shorteners like bit.ly, and a bunch of others) but until Tweetiator were not available to the site owner. Tweetiator shows you who is sharing links to your content and let's you follow them and message them. It's that simple.

Just sign up, download and install our JavaScript on your website, and sit back and enjoy. As links to your content are shared on Twitter, you will receive alerts in your Tweetiator dashboard as well as optional alerts sent to you via email. You can then follow and/or message your biggest fans.

The connection between Social networks and Email is a problem waiting to be solved. When Google tried to integrate Buzz into Gmail, it suffered a major backlash from users complaining about a breach of their privacy. Looking at my Gmail inbox these days would make one think that social mail has taken over. however there is very little we can do with our social emails besides read them, we can’t even respond to Facebook notices sent to us by our friends.

A slew of solutions are attempting to make our emails more social. Among them, TweetByMail connects your Twitter accounts with your inbox, and enable users to send and receive tweets with Outlook, Gmail, or any Smartphone. Digsby integrates mail with social networks and IM tools. However, these solutions are limited in their abilities, what if you want to send your mail to selected persons by email and at the same time, share or expose your mail to your followers? A new tool out of the works makes just this possible.

Cc:Everybody, is a public email service that aims to set free the content that would otherwise be lost forever in the depths of your inbox. Cc:Everybody is a free service that works alongside your real email, and gives you the option to share your conversations. When you sign into Cc:Everybody, you receive a public email address: user@cceverybody.com. From this stage, you can start sharing your emails right away by sending/forwarding them to your Cc:Everybody address where they will be visible in your public inbox http://cceverybody.com/{you}.

Anyone can send emails to this address, and these are in turn shared on Social Networks instead of just showing up in your personal mail address. Notify everyone about your new public email address. Once someone a sends a message to this address, they receive a reply requesting approval to publicize their message, once granted their message is presented show in your public inbox and everyone can see it.

You can reply to messages published in your public inbox and then publish your reply to Twitter. In this way, your public email becomes a place for private and public conversations. Sounds tricky? It is, And we found the UI and the sharing process not intuitive. However, Looking again at the inbox, many emails are public anyway, so the transition from Private to Public is happening anyway.

Cc:Everybody was founded by Ran Geva and Israel Tsadok, the founders and developers behind Omgili.com. On site they explain they created Cc:Everybody “because we wanted to combine what we love about forums, blogs, email and mailing lists.”

Answers.com, supplier of Q&A answer engine, introduced its new alpha Twitter feature, code-named “Hoopoe”, at the #140 Character Conference in New York City.

Answers.com’s Hoopoe delivers instant answers to users who tweet their questions to @AnswersDotCom or include the hashtag #AnswersDotCom. Answers.com will search for a good match and offer a reply with a snippet and link to the full answer, if available. See it in action:

However, if @AnswersDotCom doesn’t have the answer, the Twitter account offers the user to go to Answers.com and ask the new question there.

We found the new Tweet for Answer feature quite smart. By joining in the conversation. Answers.com can be a valuable service for people seeking quick answers for burning questions without the need to leave Twitter. Bob Rosenschein, Answers.com CEO, sees this as a new direction for Answers.com and we tend to agree and see the last one as more than a feature.

Lately Answers.com partnered with Tweetup, Bill Gross’ new Twitter search engine, to place a Tweetup search box at the bottom of WikiAnswers pages.

Tweetup, a so called AdSense for Twitter, is hoping to cash in on the microblogging site’s stream of 600 tweets per second by filtering them. TweetUp allows people to bid on keywords that can move up tweets in search results.

Advertisers will eventually be able to bid in three ways: by impression, by new follower, or by click through to an end URL. Right now bids are by impression only. The platform combines a bid-based marketplace with an algorithm-that considers the popularity, relevance and influence of tweets and tweeters.

The system aims to increase the number of followers and improve the quality of Twitter searches by bringing the best tweets up to the top of search results.

The algorithm includes the tweet’s author, number of followers, influence score, how often the tweet gets retweeted, CTR on the Bit.ly link, and the amount the person bids for that tweet to spread it across the Internet.

The keyword could cost 1 cent per impression for a tweet to boost it on a particular keyword. If the tweet lacks relevance, influence, popularity or other triggers in the algorithm, no bid will become high enough to boost it to the top. TweetUp search will work alongside Twitter’s organic search to provide a variety of results.

Gross – founder of the IdeaLab incubator, where TweetUp is based – founded Goto.com and renamed Overture Services, bought by Yahoo for $1.6 billion in 2003. Gross’ new venture is funded by Index Ventures (an investor in Skype, last.fm, Myheritage and Playfish), betaworks (investor in Twitter, TweetDeck, Bit.ly), Revolution LLC (founded by Steve Case, investor in Zipcar, LivingSocial, Everyday Health), First Round Capital (investor in Mint.com, StumbleUpon, CoTweet), Jason Calacanis (founder of Mahalo) and Jeff Jarvis (founder of BuzzMachine).

Answers.com will place a Tweetup search box at the bottom of WikiAnswers pages.

Snaptu, a provider of fast and free applications for mobile phones, received an unknown amount of funds from Sequoia Capital. This will enable the young company to advance its development efforts.

Snaptu, led by CEO Ran Makavy, develops free applications for accessing popular sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Picasa, weather and news updates. Snaptu, formerly known as Moblica, has two advantages.

First, it works not only on smartphones. While these phones are popular with the tech community and will gradually gain more market share, they aren’t accessible to everybody. Without a smartphone, you need some knowledge and a lot of patience to access such sites with the default browser of th non-smartphone.

And this is where the second advantage comes in: these applications not only make these sites accessible, but also fast. Also the impatient will get familiar with the applications rather fast.

Over 4 million downloads probably convinced the Gili Raanan and his colleagues at Sequoia Capital to back Snaptu. The sum of the investment is unknown, and so is the business model. The funds will probably go also for developing the monetization aspect.

A few days ago I was informed by Amos Szust of eMailaya, about their future release of version 4.0.0 (alpha 2) eMailaya mail client. I must say I was intrigued to test it myself, especially due to the fact that I’m accustomed to Mozilla Thunderbird, Gmail interface (via Google Apps) and most of the time mailing through my Blackberry mail app. Here are my notes from 24 hours with the new eMailaya version, and and also an offer for our readers to try it for themselves.

There first thing that meets the eye after a very short download (thumbs up for that) is a very fun interface with an enormous amount of features and possibilities.

This alpha version offers much more than a mail client. The most practical features I tried were the Twitter account, Calendar and of course e-mail, which I tried on my personal account(Gmail). The mail offers managing several mail accounts, with the possibility to read and send emails from one inbox or in separate inboxes – a feature which I found useful when using 3-4 mail accounts at the same time. The mail client offers basic mail features alongside more advanced features such as viewing emails on a browser page(FF or IE), replying to letters from different accounts and sending whole emails as attached files.

In addition to mailing services, the software has a long set of popular web and social tools that can be managed on the application itself including Twitter and Facebook accounts, an RSS reader, a calendar and an Ascii table. The feature I used most was the Twitter client, which I found the most useful with the mail.

To conclude, I think eMailaya’s product is especially good for certain users. Users using more than 3 mail accounts and enjoy their RSS feed all in one place available constantly, would find this product useful. I think that eMailaya should support more platforms such as LinkedIn, and add more possibilities to the current Twitter and Facebook screen – features which will make it more appealing to intensive social users.
