Aniboom, a virtual animation studio, is holding an animation competition, this time with an educational purpose and using a classic educational TV series – Sesame street. The contest is open to submissions for 6 weeks from now. Big Bird, Cookie Monster and Barney await your creativity.

$50,000 in cash have been allocated for prizes in this competition, that consists of 5 stages. The jury in this competition consists of figures from different fields: Neil Patrick Harris, Sandra Oh (Grey’s Anatomy), Juju Chang (Good Morning America), Kevin Clash (Elmo) and the original Sesame Street “Pinball Number Count” animator, Jeffrey Hale.

Animators from various countries and with different levels of talent will get the attention of the industry’s hot-shots. The winner of the grand prize will be announced on May 17th.

Competitions are always a good method to promote the sponsor and the hosting platfrom. The partnership with Sesame Street is different from previous co-operations that appealed to “cool kids”, such as the campaign with Radiohead, but it provides the company recognition right in the middle of the mainstream.

More information about the contest can be found here.
