Radvision new Freeware enables Video Conference for Mobiles

Radvision extends its presence in the  growing market of smartphones with a free application for controlling and managing video conferences. The application initially works on BlackBerry, iPhone and iPodTouch.

Radvision SCOPIA Mobile

Radvision’s newly launched software, SCOPIA Mobile, joins the existing SCOPIA products and is a free version for smartphones.

While BlackBerry is popular among the business community and Apple’s devices are common among tech executives, this version isn’t supported on Nokia’s phones nor Android phones, reducing the distribution potential.

SCOPIA mobile enables managers of video conferences to control whether they hear or see other participants, record the calls, disconnect specific participants and even rearrange the screen layouts for others. As streaming of video requires a high bandwidth, network speed and loss of speed of other participants is also available. This helps in troubleshooting.

Participants aren’t limited to mobile phone users – also corporate video conferencing room systems and telephones can be invited from the mobile application users, that have access to corporate directories.

You can check out additional features and download it here.

Radvision recently received a long-awaited patent for videoconferencing via Instant Messaging applications. SCOPIA Mobile continues the same trend of expanding video conferencing to new places.
