MyHeritage rolls alternative views for the Family tree

MyHeritage continues to release new features. Not long after the release of two premium features, the Israeli provider of an advanced genealogy platform, announced two new free features: one for getting a quick picture of the family tree in a fan shape, and the other for detailed browsing.

The Family Book feature is for people who want to make a deep dive into a single person’s point inside the tree. By selecting the person, a detailed report is created according to chosen details and will usually show a family tree together with pictures and stories.

Similar to previous features, such as the Family Timeline, also this was done with the cooperation of another company – Nigel Bufton Software.

For those that want to focus on the big picture, MyHeritage introduces the Fan Chart presentation. This is useful when selecting an old family member that has many descendants. The fan chart can customized to fit into a set amount of pages (arranged for gluing) or as a poster that can be shown in a family gathering. Pictures can also be added, but this feature looks best with less detail – for examining the tree.

Both features were developed due to popular demand from MyHeritage’s users. The addition of free features side by side with premium features ensures that the majority of the user base will remain content.
