My6Sense opens up to 3rd parties – releases API

My6Sense, which develops a content recommendation system for mobile phones, launches an API for developers. This platform, currently in closed Beta, aims to bring My6Sense to new customers via new applications that will be developed on its technology.

In our review My6Sense review, we were quite impressed with the technology – My6Sense learns the user’s preferences and exposes content that he will find interesting and relevant. The application goes beyond the initial feeds that the user provides the application, and offers data from new sources. Information comes from RSS feeds, news sites, Twitter updates and other sources.

My6Sense not only provides the user with meaningful news, but also hides content items that it finds irrelevant, even if the source was picked by the user. Losing control may be hard for some users.

My6Sense now takes one step further – using the new Attention API (Application Programming Interface), developers can build applications on top of this “Digital Intuition”. The applications will send the initial data streams and the users’ interaction with them -solely implicit interaction. The users won’t be asked for explicit feedback. The API will return the recommended content.

Barak Hachamov, founder and chairman of My6Sense and his team seek to cooperate with mobile applications developers on one hand and content publishers of all kinds on the other hand. Attention API, officially announced at the DEMO event in Palm Springs, is still in closed Beta for a few months. The fruits of this first stage will probably pave the path for the next applications that will be developed once the API opens up to the public.
