Metacafe expands Music Partnerships

Metacafe, the big video sharing website founded by Israeli, is diving deeper into the American music industry by adding 6000 music videos from Warner Music Group.

This is a major expansion of the music videos offered by Metacafe – double the current inventory. These clips are now featured in Metacafe’s Music Hub, launched earlier this year.
Among the artists that can now be seen are well-known rock groups Metallica and Led Zeppelin, as well as the queen of pop – Madonna.
The downside of this announcement is that these videos will only be available to people from the US – similar to Hulu’s policy.
Metacafe already features music videos from Sony BMG among others.
Copyright issues on music videos have received lots of attention in the video sharing scene in the past few years. YouTube has muted some of the music videos that were submitted to their site. “Cease or desist” letters have been sent out in many cases.
