Rounds Facebook App: Interact and Chat on Video

The video chat folks at 6rounds have launched a new Facebook application, and re-branded themselves, they are now called Rounds.

We reviewed Rounds earlier this year and were left with the impression that although video chat is far from being something new, the Rounds platform offers a very appealing delivery. The platform encourages  meeting new people and making new connections, while the chat tool sports many features, and visual options.  These often funny effects include, among others: superimposed effects over the video, onscreen games, Facebook sharing options, and Google map sharing. The platform has become quite popular and gained a substantial number of users, however it remained less approachable to the masses connecting on Facebook.

Now, that Rounds is an app on the Facebook platform, it will have to prove itself with the Facebook masses. Users on Facebook spend a lot of time checking out other user’s profiles, Rounds enables them to browse different profiles together with their friends, talk and play while they do that. The platform has that ’stickieness’ potential.  Time will tell if Facebook users will vote to adopted it.
